Search the Site
By default, the search engine tries to locate pages which contain exact matches for all of the
words entered in your search query. If that fails, it then tries to locate pages which contain
any of the words. In this case a message will be displayed at the top of the search results
page.
In addition, there are several ways to modifiy the default search behaviour.
+ and - qualifiers
- Put a + sign before any keyword which must be on the page.
- Put a - sign before any keyword which must not be on the page.
- Example +always -never
* wildcard
- If a keyword ends with * [asterisk], all words on a page which start in the same
way as the keyword will match.
- Example crim* will find both crime and criminal
? wildcard
- If a keyword contains ?, any character will match that position.
- Example c?ime will find both crime and chime
Combining qualifiers and wildcards
- Qualifiers and wildcards can be combined in any way.
- Example +crim* -elem??nt
